Eamon:I've always considered myself rather lucky in that I've had a useful, I think so, adventurous and satisfying life in many ways. There has always been something in me that doesn't accept what is straightforwardly given? I'm always wanting to know the reasons why and where and what. God, I must've been a really annoying child. But that voracious appetite for knowledge started me off on my lifelong journey of discovery. Not just about myself or the world about me, but about life in general. It's been a journey that took me to some strange and unusual places and situations. Looking back the sort of places and situations. that rational people would stay clear off, but when you're young and on a mission, you have no fear. Ever since childhood, I was interested in religion and philosophy of course and I kept asking the question why usually getting what I thought was an unsatisfactory answer. To the point where over the years I explored all the major religions and quite a few of the, not so well known ones in search of answers. Even though sometimes I was not even sure. I what the right question was to ask. Life is a complex beast though, just when we think we have it all sussed Just like when you're a teenager. Something happens to show us we haven't, we then must move on and reevaluate ourselves and the life around us. And the more we progress, the more we must continually learn and assess our progress. This is what evolution is all about. Everything in the universe evolves, including the earth, including each of us. Nothing is permanent. Nothing is forever in life. Even if you do nothing, you will slowly evolve. But mainly as a result of external influences totally beyond your control. Transcendence on the other hand is having control of your own life and dictating. where you're going, what your boundaries are and what you want. The most important thing is to maintain some sort of control, but even that is difficult unless you kind of unlock your own potential by learning who you really are. You should never go through life, trying to be somebody else or somebody different than you really are. You are unique and everybody, including you has a natural talent. It is for you to find yours. We must find that uniqueness in ourselves and explore it even though at first, you may not like it. But once you see it and accept it, you have the possibility to transform it. By doing so you can separate yourself from the throng of those people who just walk blindly through life. Following the social expectations, the religious dogmas and philosophies, and just follow the rules all the time. I'm not demeaning these people because they are very important. They are nature's preferred people because they ensure the survival of our species. But ask yourself. This little question. Do you want to be a worker bee or a queen bee? One of my favorite expressions is rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men. Now, I'm not saying you don't have to follow the rules, but you must validate the rules, are there for different reasons, maybe to safeguard you or to ensure a collaborative society, or maybe just to control you. Governments and religious bodies generate copious rules. So does science and nature loves rules too. It is necessary though, to understand the rules and adapt them if necessary, because control must come from within. If you're going to transcend and move forward spiritually or materially. Surpassing normal human experience or achieving a heightened state of awareness or existence or understanding. It is commonly associated with spirituality philosophy and personal growth suggesting an elevation beyond the physical and material constraints into a realm of higher consciousness or understanding. Transcendence is often considered a transformative experience, guiding individuals to a deeper sense of purpose, unity, or oneness with the world or universe. In spirituality and religious context, transcendence typically refers to a connection with the divine or ultimate reality that's certainly lies beyond human perception. Many religious traditions who described this as an encountering or realizing a higher power or the metaphysical entities or states. This transcendent reality is viewed as a universal truth that lies outside the constraints of time, space and physical matter. Philosophically transcendence has been discussed by thinkers like Emmanuel Kant, who distinguished between the phenomenal or perceptual world. And a new noumenal. The world beyond perception. For Kant human understanding is limited to the phenomenal. As our sensors and cognition can only grasp aspects of reality accessible to our minds. The noumenal, however, is the realm of things as they truly are, independent perception, a concept that lies beyond human grasp yet suggests a greater reality beyond appearances. In personal development, transcendence refers to surpassing one's current limitations whether physical, intellectual, emotional, or spiritual. Abraham Maslow highlighted transcendence in his hierarchy of needs. As a state beyond self actualization, where individuals seek experiences of unity and meaning that connect them to something far greater than themselves, we will be hearing more of Maslow as this podcast, unfurls. Transcendence can also take a secular form in artistic or creative expression of course. Artists musicians and writers may describe the transcendence moment of inspiration. Where they feel connected to something beyond their own knowledge or skill channeling and creativity. That feels as if it originates from outside themselves. This sense of transcending one's normal creative limits can lead to breakthroughs. Artists, musicians and writers may describe transcendent moments of inspiration, where they feel connected to something beyond their own knowledge or skill channeling creativity that feels as if it originates from outside themselves. This sense of transcending one's normal creative limits can lead to breakthroughs helping artists achieve work that resonates on deep and universal levels. In modern time though transcendence is something pursued through the practices of meditation, mindfulness, or other techniques that cultivate heightened awareness and mental clarity. To me though. Transcendence is not a practice you do every now and again, it is achieved by continuous evolving lifestyle and a development of knowledge. Ultimately transcendence invites a journey beyond the self whether in spiritual, intellectual or creative terms. Evolution and transcendence represent two distinct paradigms for understanding growth, change and the progression of life both individually and collectively. While evolution focus on the gradual annotation and development of organisms through natural selection. Transcendence refers to surpassing the ordinary limits of existence. Often encompassing, spiritual or existential dimensions provide complimentary yet contrasting frameworks for interpreting in human potential. And the trajectory of life. While evolution builds upon external factors. Transcendence is deeply internal driven by human will introspection and the pursuit of ideals such as truth of beauty and love. Furthermore transcendence suggests the possibility of overcoming evolutionary limitations. For example. While evolution might explain the development of intelligence as a survival tool. Transcendence explores how intelligence can be directed towards altruism, creativity, and spiritual fulfillment. In conclusion, what this podcast is about is each of us breaking free of our individual conditioning. Understanding those unseen forces that make us what we are and where necessary removing them. I aim to discuss the many aspects of life that mainly go and noticed in a down to earth manner. No lecturing. Just the sharing of ideas for you to use as you will. I hope to inspire you to walk a path of transcendence that will help bring joy and fulfillment to your lives. Let me finish with the words of Steve Jobs. Your time is limited. So don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. Thank you for taking the time to listen to a transcendence guide podcast. Please subscribe.
